AI is really just templatised knowledge

It dawned on me the other day, that AI is simply templatised knowledge or templatised thinking to be a bit more accurate. And this is something we have always done as human beings.

We have always converted knowledge, frameworks, know-how, ideas, and functions into templates. Books are templates of the content in them, chairs are templates of sitting. Pots are templates of holding food while you cook.

I was thinking about this, because I was first thinking about websites and website templates.

In the past decade, sites like canva and wix and the many other website makers released a plethora of website templates into the world.

It was up to you how you used it. The crafts people would frown on it sure. But what could elevate it was how you injected what was uniquely you into the template and made it your own.

You could use it as it was with minimal edit, or you could use it as a starting base and turn it into something unrecognisable.

We’ve just always done it. We are lazy, we will take the quicker route if we need to, so we can put our energies in something else we value.

Its okay to use AI as a tool, as a way to learn, generate, create, you must just always bend it towards your own ends, to boost what is uniquely human and can’t be easily templatised. That which is raw, rich experience, heart and full of soul.

Use it to make, and say something real.

The one interesting thing lately I have been using it is as a way to codify ideas and to make frameworks operational. Creating tools that make it easier to put ideas into practice.
